Fabergé: from St Petersburg to Sandringham
By Ian Collins
Opened in October 2017 to mark the anniversary of the Russian Revolution, the Sainsbury Centre held The Russia Season, contrasting art and life before and after this historical period.
Royal Fabergé explores the extraordinary production and glittering saga of Fabergé, the leading artist-jewellers during the decades preceding the First World War. This catalogue was produced to accompany the immensely popular exhibition of the same name, and reveals the exquisite creativity that enthralled both British and Russian courts, while examining the work of Carl Fabergé in the historical and cultural context of the times.
