Radical Russia: Culture, Art and Revolution
Opened in October 2017 to mark the anniversary of the Russian Revolution, the Sainsbury Centre held The Russia Season, contrasting Russian art and life, before and after the Revolution.
Radical Russia shows how in a few short years a new approach to art emerged. This catalogue, produced to accompany the exhibition, includes pre-revolution works, showing the way in which Russian abstraction included specific Russian themes – especially relating to the Russian peasantry.
This book covers a wide variety of objects, including supremacist ceramics that utilised revolutionary symbolism, and was written Professor Peter Waldron of UEA History.
